The beginning of a project perhaps ultimately to be a Book musical, but for now a group of songs telling the magnificent story of the building of the Brooklyn Bridge – an icon ofAmerican architecture, culture, imagery and ethos. Made iconically epic by the book length poem by Hart Crane, the Bridge has been a symbol of all that is great about the American experiment of freedom, democracy, westering, class equality, and more than that - the unique American Dream. For now it’s simply to be a song cycle, or a cantata… and a work in progress. I’ll be updating this site with mp3’s of the new score, as it comes together.
